What Adult
Education Means To Me
Adult Education means a lot to me because it allows people like me to complete their education. It’s important to me to complete my education because I want to be a good example for my children. When I get my G.E.D. I will feel better about myself and also be able to take college classes.
I want my children to be successful
in life, and I feel that I should set a good example for them. I’ve tried to
teach them to be honest, trustworthy and to make the right choices. However, I
feel that by showing them that I’m trying hard, I am teaching them to keep
trying and not to give up on education.
In continuing my education, I’m
also gaining confidence and self-respect. As I progress through each level of
my studies, I get more confident about myself, and know that I will complete my
G.E.D. in the near future.
Last summer, I was attending
Yavapai College, in preparation for a course in Computer Analysis. I wanted to
apply for a Pal Grant, but in order to get the grant, I had to take a test. I
failed the math section and tutoring was recommended. Instead of getting
tutoring, I thought I might as well try to get my G.E.D., so I enrolled at
Victory.
I’m glad that I enrolled and have
the opportunity to complete my education and be a good example for my children.
I am looking forward to going to college and getting a certificate for Computer
Analysis. Then I can fix computers when they’re not working properly.
“Thank God” for adult education!
