My Family Memories

One of my favorite family memories is when my brothers and sisters and I were children in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.  Holy Week, in particular Good Friday, was a special time for my Mom. She was in mourning all day. My Mom would prepare different foods and before 3:00 in the afternoon we would all sit down at the table, we’d pray and begin to eat.

Upon finishing our meal it would be past 3:00, the hour that Christ died. We would not do any activity, my Mom sat with us all together and she would read to us the Passion of Christ from the Bible. We couldn’t listen to music, watch TV nor play. It was really a time of mourning.

That time was very important to me because our family was together and we shared that so special day , and we remembered why Christ died for us.
