My mother-in-law tells a story of when she lived in a town with her
parents. She says that her Dad planted a lot of vegetables to eat, and people
from around there would go to visit them when the crops were harvested, because
her family always had some food to give them. And she tells that one day while
she was playing outside with her sisters, her father asked them to go and get some
of the vegetables from the fields so people could take them. When they went
they saw a lady dressed in black, and they ran to tell their mother. Their Mom
said, “Surely that is your aunt, run to meet her.” But as they ran toward her
she seemed to be moving backwards until she crossed a hill with standing wire,
and they said that after she passed by the wire, she disappeared.
But my mother-in-law says that lady
always appears there, and it’s believed that she is a nun, because once a nun
and priest were killed near there.
