Cynthia

At fourteen, Cynthia became pregnant. Like may teenage mothers, her education was on hold as she dealt with the challenges of parenting.

Cynthia came into our program in August of 2002. She had never attended high school and her math level was 6.7. Cynthia applied herself diligently, and in three months, her math level had risen five grade levels to11.8. She obtained the GED diploma within a year of starting our program.

Cynthia is now a working mom of a three year old. She told me today that she will keep her part time job in a supermarket until she can find a better one. She spoke confidently about faxing her resume to various employers. Cynthia expressed her gratitude for the help she received at Arizona Call-A-Teen.
