I probably would be in the same spot I was in before I came...

response to “What would happen if there wasn’t a GED program for you?”
I probably would be in the same spot I was in before I came. When I was a freshman in high school I was stupid & got pregnant. All of my doctor appointments and getting sick interfered with my school. I was missing classes and losing credits. I ended up losing all my credits and was told to start again the following year.
It was not easy to go to school with no help from anyone, no babysitter, and I couldn’t work. So it was either school or work and I had to get a job. Once I had money coming in I could afford a babysitter, and then I needed two jobs. I got married to a loser who is now in prison for manslaughter. He killed my daughter.
I now have a three year old daughter and a one year
old son. In order for me to have a job that pays enough money for me to support
two kids and myself and without a GED or a diploma, I can’t do that and I
can’t go back to high school. Too many problems, don’t have the time, and
I’ve tried it already four times. So basically, without the GED and the GED
program, I’d be a bum on welfare for the rest of my life.
