AALL State-wide Advocacy Committee

                   Goals for August, 2005 to July, 2006

1.      Assist in preparation of a State-wide Advocacy campaign that is agreed upon and implemented by advocacy groups throughout the state

2.      Expand and maintain an active State and Congressional District Network of Adult Education advocates

    3.      Conduct voter registration and awareness campaigns among all stake holders in Adult    Education

     4.      Encourage and facilitate visits from Program Staff and Students to State and Federal representatives and visits from State and Federal Officials to Adult Education Programs

      5.   Organize Adult Literacy Week events throughout Arizona   February19-25, 2006.

     6.      Facilitate expanded media coverage of Adult Literacy programs

     7.      Explore avenues of greater cooperation among “friends of Adult Education” in the legislatures at the local, state and Federal level

     8.      Co-ordinate continuing leadership development activities throughout the year at AALL conferences and other venues

    9. Facilitate a voter registration campaign.

    10. Sponsor or co-sponsor candidate forums in the summer of  06.
