Steps for Putting It All Together

You will return to the Notepad as in the Exercise E, "Steps for Using a Text Editor like Notepad" and open up the file "All About Me" and PASTE your new writing into the file in place of the text line, "Paste here the text about your pictures." Again, "Save As" your file as an HTML file.

1. The steps are as follows:

  1. Click on "Start" from the computer system’s desktop
  2. Click on Programs
  3. click on Accessories
  4. click on Notepad

2. After reaching Notepad do the following steps:

  1. File
  2. Open

3. Browse to the A drive and open up the file named, "Who Am I". (This is a text file.)

It should appear as in Exercise E with your pictures listed.

  1. Point your mouse inside the quotation marks of the line that says, "Paste here the text about your pictures." (point between the first quotation mark and the capital P) and left click the mouse.
  2. Click on Edit
  3. Click on Paste

4. The paragraphs you previously typed appear if the COPY from Activity F is still on the Windows Clipboard. You may want to delete the letters of the sentence, "Paste here the text about your pictures."

  1. Click on File
  2. Click on Save As..
  3. Do a "Save As" of your file as an HTML file.
  1. Using the desktops "My Computer" or other directory system, locate your saved "All About Me" file and open it up by double clicking on your file’s name. If you are connected to the Internet, your simulated web page appears with your pictures and your text.
