Dear AALL members, friends, and supporters,
The feedback we've heard about our recent statewide efforts to raise awareness and advocate for funding for adult education in Arizona includes the words: historic, outstanding, phenomenal, fabulous, remarkable, extraordinary. State legislators and the Governor heard our voices loud and clear. There is no question that Arizona leaders know a lot more about adult education than they have ever known before, and that is because of all the work that was done on student leadership and awareness activities this year, including:
- Ambassador Trainings: We now have active AZ Adult Education Ambassadors (student leaders) from all over the state (Pima, Yavapai, Tempe, Mesa, Rio Salado, and more)
- Events: press releases, open houses, field trips, and visits by and to legislators
- Mobilization: hundreds of letters, emails, calls to legislators, and almost 1000 to the governor
Let’s thank all who participated: supporters, community friends, policymakers, the Arizona Department of Education, and students who wrote letters and made phone calls.
Let's encourage students who wrote letters to the Governor to follow up by writing to their representatives in the AZ Senate & House. Let's ask how they voted on the budget amendments to restore adult education funding.
Let's continue to use social media for our awareness efforts:
